It's Autumn!

Guess what? The bookkeeper finally updated her blog! She's sure you all were waiting tensely on the edge of your seat.

Having missed updating her blog last week, Bookkeeper has a lot of art to post today. In order to make it all more interesting, she's turned this post into:

A Week in the Life of Bookkeeper (illustrated version)

Watch as Bookkeeper uses random pictures to illustrate her story!

Monday - The bookkeeper stayed in bed until noon, then burned off energy by annoying people.

That evening she made french fries for supper. She was helped by this lil' guy:

His name is Joel, by the way. He wasn't much of a help, though. He kept fetching the wrong ingredients:

(I asked for olive oil, not magical bluish vapor!)

Also, he isn't real.

Tuesday - After sleeping in late, Bookkeeper had some school work to catch up on. She swears she finished all her math pages...

(Picture for the bookkeeper's brother = finished!)

...but a minotaur ate them before she could hand them in.

That evening Bookkeeper went to theatre and attempted to converse with her fellow humans, much to their confusion.

(These are characters from my novel. A sidhe is a Celtic fae. Sidhe is pronounced "she.")

Wednesday - At theatre, the bookkeeper drew yet more things in her script.

Her art was so awesome it drove people to their knees!

Well, actually it didn't. So she drew pictures and pretended it did.

Thursday - Bookkeeper went to the library and found cool stuff.

(By "cool stuff" she means "books." Probably.)

One thing the bookkeeper did not do was go fishing. But she drew this anyway:

If you went fishing on Thursday, please don't tell the bookkeeper.

Friday - The first day of autumn! Autumn is Bookkeeper's favorite season. To celebrate, Bookkeeper cut hundreds of leaf shapes out of red and orange paper and scattered them around the house.

(You can get the same effect by leaving the doors open on a windy day.)

After staring at them for a while, the bookkeeper realized that some of the leaves looked like feathers. Thus the autumn phoenix was drawn (the picture at the top of this post), the best work of art she's ever drawn on a whim.

Why Bookkeeper Wears a Hat

Last Tuesday the bookkeeper bonked her head on a low doorway and her brains leaked out of her ears. You can tell because she then drew this:

She's not quite sure what it is, but she drew it.

She also drew these:

It's a subconscious reaction to the throbbing pain: by drawing 15 heads, she hopes to lessen the pain by 15%.

It must have worked because she's feeling a lot better now. And don't worry, her brains didn't really leak out. That's why she wears a hat.

If you didn't catch the hint in the bookkeeper's last post, she's acting in a theatre production. This week she got to mumble and jiggle ...er... sing and dance. She's trying her best, she promises!

Bookkeeper can't help feeling out-of-place as she works on being an actress. Having always been a stage crew girl, she started to panic when she didn't see any ropes, buttons, or gaff tape. She wandered around in a daze when she learned she'd be wearing a costume instead of cool, stealthy black. It was in this wandering around that she walked into a doorway, which brings us back to the beginning.

Ice Cream Shoppe

Last week the bookkeeper told her watchers to go buy ice cream for themselves (how nice).

however, she received a comment from a watcher who was wearing pj's at the time and couldn't get any ice cream.

*Sniffle* EVERYONE DESERVES ICE CREAM!

So... Kelli, this is for you:

Ice cream: easier drawn than done!

Before the bookkeeper shows you her next picture, she wants to direct your clicks to her updated About the Bookkeeper page: right here, if you can't find the link at the top of the page.

The updated page includes four fancy new pictures! You may applaud now.

If you missed the old About page, here's what it said:

The bookkeeper is a young artist and an aspiring author who started a blog so she could write down her thoughts on some of her favorite subjects.

She also started a blog because all the cool people have blogs. Hey look, a bandwagon! Woohoo!

Though bookkeeper loves readin' and 'ritin', she doesn't care much for 'rithmatic. She proposes that etiquette or maybe poetry be a staple of schooling instead.

Okay, let's see what else Bookkeeper drew this week.

Another character from her story! Finally!

And... a bunch of sketches!

Bookkeeper draws stuff in her theatre scripts? Yep. It's a sign of the truly art-addicted. Occasionally people stop and ask to see what she's drawing. The bookkeeper has to say that the only thing greater than her feeling of embarrassment is the feeling she gets when people tell her "Oh, that is so cool-looking!" or even "You should be a professional artist!"

Bookkeeper likes people who admire her art! They don't notice the big honkin' mistakes.

That's all Bookkeeper has to say for today, so... have a good week!
